HOW TO CROCHET A GRANNY SQUARE

This is one step more intermediate compared to crocheting a flower, so below I will also be listing a video to help.

  1. Make a Slip knot

  2. Chain 5

  3. Make a circle. To do this make a slip stitch into the first chain that you crocheted.

  4. Double crochet 2 times into the hole of the circle that was just made.

  5. Chain 2

  6. Double crochet 2 times into the hole of the circle that was just made.

made.

  1. Chain 2

  2. You can notice that now you have almost crocheted a square-like thing. To finish this first round, you must slip stitch into the top stitch, which is one of the first stitches you crocheted.

  3.  Chain 3, as this is the beginning of a new round

  4.  Double crochet into next square, the top left corner 3 times

  5.  Chain 3, as this is going to become a corner.

  6.  Double crochet into the same square 3 times

  7.  Chain 1

  8.  Double crochet into the next square 3 times

  9.  Chain 3

     20. Double crochet into the same square 3 times

     21.  Chain 1

     22. Double crochet into the next square 3 times

     23. Chain 3

    24. Double crochet into the same square 3 times

    25. Chain 1

    26. Double crochet into the next square 3 times

    27. Chain 3

    28. Double crochet into the next square 3 times

    29. Join it in the same way you joined on your square in step 12.

    30. Repeat from step 13 until you are happy with the size of the

          granny square.

    31. Cut off the excess string, and you are done!
